The project is part of a ADAPT-Italian Ministry of Labor initiative for the diffusion of e-commerce technologies in business-to-business transactions.
The Laboratory of Economics and Management has been involved in the development of a survey on the diffusion of e-commerce technologies in manufacturing firms. The data will allow the empirical testing of mathematical models of diffusion with externalities and critical mass and of models of diffusion with heterogenous populations of potential adopters. In addition the data will allow the calibration of numerical models of diffusion with endogenous toplogy of agents. The research unit has developed a structured questionnaire and will provide the analysis of data.
Collection of data began end of January, 2000. The research Report has been available late April 2000.
