  Research

The aim of the project is to analyse the conceptual and empirical problems associated to the definition and measurement of public research productivity and to develop a methodology for its evaluation. The research group will develop original databases on research output with respect to the Italian University System (CRUI), the National Research Council (CNR) and some large CNR Finalized Projects, with comparisons with other national systems (in particular, the French INSERM in the biomedical sector).
More specifically the following topics are covered by the projects:
- microstructure of coordination of public research and publication productivity
- increasing returns in scientific production
- development of a methodology for the evaluation of public research
- development of patent indicators of research potential applications in biotechnology
- measurement of the impact of university-industry relations on research performance
- methodologies of evaluation of non-market output of industrial research
